These three pictures were taken at a Bridgehampton EMRA race in 1973. The car is my '67 Sprite fitted with a $50 "junkyard" 1098 (it blew a piston later in the day, bringing out the "meatball" flag).

The upper black and white picture was taken at an autocross probably when I was a freshman in college ('68 or '69), in the Neshaminy Mall in Pennsylvania (I think this was a "Delaware Valley Sports Car Club" event....no helmets required!). Being a poor college student, the Sprite had bald tires, so I borrowed a set of wheels and tires from my old "Bugeye" friend, Dave Brown.....If you look closely, you can tell that the wheels are from a Bugeye. Second picture is same car at Bucks County Community College autocross...I hated these "Bucks County" events because they always included a "back-up-and-knock-over-the-cone" part: a recipe for a snapped axle in a Sprite.

Right out of high school, I went racing with my 948 Bugeye Sprite("Frogeye" to Brits). In the top picture, other two guys are Jackson High grads also: Dave Fuchs (middle) and Sam Woodson (right)...I think they were still in high school when this shot was taken. I bought the Bugeye for $35 and sold it later for $60....clever, huh? The "three musketeers" shot is at McGuire AFB (we look more like "three dorks")...this was an event run by "The Flying Burros Sports Car Club". Sam had an MGA coupe and later a Sunbeam Tiger, but I don't think he ever raced them. The taxi-way for a B-52 makes an excellent autocross site! The "circuit shot" (third picture) is an autocross at New Egypt Speedway (NJ): we ran here a lot because it was very close to my parent's house and we could "sneak" over without proper registration, insurance, etc. The black and white shot is also at New Egypt.

These pictures were taken at the April 2003 Hershey Vintage Hillclimb. More excellent pictures of the Hershey Hillclimb here: http://www.kenbeardphoto.com/hhc03/index.htm

Pictures below taken at the EMRA Time Trials at Pocono Raceway, in May 2003. I'm pretty sure that the smoke in the lower picture is comming from my right rear Kumho fouling the leaf spring....I fitted a panhard rod to the car right after this.....problem solved. Pictures below taken at BeaveRun Motorsports Park in Wampum, Pennsylvania, on June 2003. If you look carefully, you'll see that the BMW in the upper picture is on 3 wheels. The lower picture is the official BeaveRun Tee-shirt (!?!?)
